2018 Open House Buenos Aires - Visiting Buildings

A great time I had this year visiting the different architectural wonders in the city of Buenos Aires.

From private homes to churches and Skyscrapers, Buenos Aires is a complete city with most of the classic and contemporary architectural styles.

The one I liked the most was the Edificio Republica located in Tucuman 1 at the finance district in Buenos Aires, built by Cesar Pelli a renowned international architect.

2018 Open House Buenos Aires - Stationed at a house

Being a volunteer with the Open house you get to be stationed at one of the 100 premises that are open to the public to visit.
This year I was stationed a the "PH Thames" in the neighbourhood of Palermo.

In Argentina "PH" means "propiedad Horizontal" used for house that are normally at street level and in theory do not have a first floor, even though some may have grown into several stories high.

This one in particular was a house from the 1920s renovated by the Alonso Crippa architectural firm. And was shown by one of the architects responsible for the job.

Here in Buenos Aires its the 6th edition held on October 27 and 28 2018.
This year I joined the event as a volunteer which has obligations and privileges.

At the Muza 5k in Buenos Aires

The Muza 5k is a local blend of Pizza orgy with Marathon in which the participants walk 5km along the renowned Avenida Corrientes visiting 7 pizza parlours located along it.
this year it gathered 1500 participants all clad in their 5k t-shirts.

starting in Chacarita and ending downtown, participants get to sample a slice of pizza at every stop.

Spirits were high among walkers which would chat slogans like "Who does´nt eat pizza does´nt love his mom", lol

the oven crews and servers were also at their peak confronting waves of pizza lovers that would crowd the restaurants like ants on a pray.

At th end of the walk there were ballot boxes to cast your vote on the best pizza joint.

The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride, Buenos Aires 2018

The distinguished Gentlema´s ride ord DGR is an international charity event thar gathers dapper riders with vintage motorbikes, this year it was held on September 30th 2018.

With close to 1million men losing their lives annually from suiside and prostate cancer, the Bueno´s Aires chapter has beeen doing it here for five years and it gathers the cities vintage bike riders.
There are rules for assisting regarding the type of bike and garments to wear.

I have to say that the organisation was excellent and there was a great selection of vintage bikes in perfect state, like a museum on wheels.

Even though the weather was not the best the ride went on riding through the most emblematic areas of Buenos Aires.
