The trip to Bolivia -Peru - On my way to La Quiaca

From San Salvador de Jujuy I took a bus to La quiaca which is the border town between Argentina and Boliva.

the trip takes roughly three hours by bus and has beautiful scenery to behold.

La Quiaca has some attractions and is the gateway to beautiful coloured mountains.

It is considered along with Salvador Mazza the two most northern cities in Argentina.

Churches in San Salvador de Jujuy

While visiting San Salvador de Jujuy, you might want to see some of its beautiful colonial churches.

One of them being the Cathedral which you will not miss since it sits right at the edge of the main square.

Another nice temple is the Basilica de San Franciscio, which is not as old as it looks since it dates from 1909.

San Salvador de Jujuy

The city of San Salvador de Jujuy is the capital of the province with the same name, way at the top of Argentina.
the city itself may have fewer atractions than the rest of the province where you will see fascinating landscapes.

It is worth spending half a day at lesat to visit its classical aquitecture.

The trip to Bolivia -Peru - San Salvador de Jujuy

Once landed at the Jujuy Airport I realized that it sits 25 clicks from the city with no public transport to get you to the city.
Fortunatelly we shared a cab with three other passengers, which saved some money considering that the cab fare was $40 bucks whis for Argentina is expensive.

I had to stop by the bus station to buy my ticket to go on to La Quiaca, so from there I had to catch another bus to the city.

The Trip to Bolivia - Peru - Catching the first flight

Happy trails readers, I am starting 2019 with yet another trip. This time to Peru, via Bolivia.
My first leg will be from Buenos Aires to San Salvador de Jujuy, in Jujuy wich is Argentinas most northern province.
Now to get there I must reach the "El Palomar"Airport which is in the 3 de Febrero area, outside Buenos Aires.
This Military air base recently anexed an airstrip for commercial flights currently being used by the low cost airlines beggining their flights in Argentina
To get there is very easy, you just need to go to one of the Ferrocarril San Martin train stations and get off at "El Palomar " from there walk 200 meters and you are right at the entrance of the airport.
From there I took a flight operated by "Fly bondy" one of the new low cost airlines to San salvador de Jujuy.
