Rosario is an important Port city in the Santa Fe Province, 300 clicks north of Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital.
Right on the shores of the Parana River it gained economic independence from the all encompassing port of Buenos Aires and became the third largest city in Argentina.
It has beautiful downtown area with many classic monuments and buildings that are witnesses of an era of prosperity.
Being 4 hrs away by road it makes it a great weekend destination, you will get to stroll its wide avenues and riverside walk (Costanera) and enjoy its mild weather, except at summer time when it gets really hot.
