The 2018 "Feria Masticar"

The event is organized by the group A.C.E.L.G.A (Asociación de Cocineros y Empresarios Ligados a la Gastronomía Argentina) with the support of the city government. Over 110,000 people attended the feria last year.

Feria Masticar 2017 edition

Its time again for the "Feria Masticar" in Buenos Aires, same venue as last year and unfortunatelly same old.

Same food trucks, same food stands, same lame cooking lessons. Nevertheless I`m not rejecting the event entirely, just saying that there`s nothing new under the sun, here (besides it was raining on opening day)

It still is a good place to get some organic foods that you normally ca`nt buy otherwise, and indulge in Food truck junk food, but do`nt expect anything new.

At the 2016 Feria Masticar

This weekend i had the chance to visit The 2016 edition of the "Feria Masticar" (Chewing fair), held at the Dorrego Market at Zapiola 50 in Palermo.

I have to say that it grew quite a bit since I last went there two years ago, mostly with the addition of Food trucks, that seem to be all the rage here in Buenos Aires.

The fair was quite complete featuring organic foods kiosks, utensils stands, and a variety of food trucks and kiosks, along with cooking books.

On Saturday you could also mingle with your famous food TV celebs like the Petersen brothers or Maru Botana, that made an appearance or gave cooking lessons.

La feria Masticar - chew on that

Dropped by the 2014 edition of the "Feria Masticar" on its last day, since it ran only from the 16-19 October. As its name says, it specialises in chewable stuffs, as well as gulping fluids.

They had kiosks  with most of the famous eating joints in Buenos Aires along with others that sold raw ingredients, fruits and veggies.
Now the one that caught my Canadian eye was the beer tasting bar set up by Stella Artois, filled with thirsty customers waiting for a free glass of cold beer.
The guys tending the taps were quite friendly and instructed the drooling customers on the 9 step pouring ritual, which the beer maker uses on its worldwide add campaigns.
Overall the exhibition was well organised and the entrance ticket was around 4bucks. I definitely recommend checking it out on its next editions.
