Long weekend in Tucuman - Parque 9 de Julio
the "Parque 9 de Julio" which is San Miguel de Tucuman´s main park coveres 4000 hectares of green.
Inaugurated in 1898 and designed by french Landscaper Charles Thais, it contains more than 3000 tress and various statues of french origin that were very a la mode at the beginning of the 20th century.
An excellent place to walk and get some shade in the hot summer days.

The Ecopraque in Buenos Aires
The Buenos Aires Zoo was built in the late 1800s and was one of the first Zoos in south America, it was built as part of a large park complex called Parque tres de febrero on the lands of the deposed governor of Buenos Aires, Juan Manuel de Rosas.
Recently transformed into an Ecopark, it is still not totally finished but most of its buildings have been restored and you can already see native plants and animals roaming free in its grounds.

like many attractions in Buenos Aires, it is free and is an ideal place to relax and go back in time admiring its beautiful architecture and statues.

In Passing snapshot - The Malambo dancer
Another interesting aspect of Buenos Aires are the dancing classes given at different parks on the weekend that can range from Folclore, Tango or swing.
I saw this lady at a Malambo dancing class given at the Barrancas de Belgrano Park on a Sunday afternoon.

The " Jardín Japones" in Buenos Aires
The Japanese garden in Buenos Aires is a private park founded by the Japanese community half a century ago. It recreates Japanese scenes and has its own museum.
Ideal for a weekend afternoon stroll, it is´nt very big but it is located in the heart of Palermo right along the Parke 3 de Febrero.
They normally host Japanese shows and have a nice gift shop with all type of traditional Japanese souvenirs, they also sell plants and have their own cafeteria. You will need to pay an entrance fee, which varies but is generally around 6 U$S.

In Passing Snapshot - Spring at the Bosques de Palermo
I went on a bike ride with fellow bike enthusiasts at the "Bosques de Palermo" and was hoping to get some nice pics of Blooming Jacarandá trees, that are very beautiful this time of year. But unfortunately due to the last storm they were with few flowers left.
Instead I found this enchanting tree covered lane with a carpet of the "Tipa" tree that also abound in Buenos Aires.

Bosques de Palermo, a piece of Versailles
The "Bosques de Palermo" are a series of parks composed by Planetario Galileo Galilei, Jardín Botánico,Lago de Regatas, and el Rosedal. A kind of Central Park in Buenos Aires, but with a french accent, actually most of the garden were created by Charles thays, that also had rearranged the Versailles garden in Paris.
Its a pretty big area where you´ll find very nice french sculptures of animals and a variety of trees with beautiful leaves and flowers. Its one of those places to go running, walking or to read a book away from the hustle of the city.
