French cultural week in Buenos Aires

Like every year we have come again to the time of the year in Buenos Aires when most of the outdoor events take place.
The Vivi Francia is part of the French cultural week in Buenos Aires.

As in past years the event was held at the plaza Catalonia that sits right beside the Splendorous French embassy in B. A.

They also have an Open house of the Embassy that requires a long wait due to a lengthly line up, normally my Press Pass gets me in fast, but due to some sour french public servants I was not allowed in.

In any case the kiosks are always the same ones with Little novelty even though they still have some appetising food options, from crepes to soupe a l´onion and some delicious desserts.

La feria de Mataderos

The Sunday Fiesta, or feria that is held in the Buenos aires neighbourhood of Mataderos, right at the edge of the city would normally be considered a tourist trap attraction and as thaw would not be worthy of my attention.

But having gone there once to check it out, I can say that in spite of having the usual kiosks that you can find in any "Feria" in Argentina, this event still has a lot of the authentic Gaucho attractions you can find in the pampas.

without leaving the big city, you´ll get a taste of the typical Argentine folklore. the Feria works on Saturdays and Sundays and has its own web site.

WWG - Worth While Going - Festival El Cine Cocina

Today I would like to start a new section on this blog. The Worth While Going tag or WWD will be awarded to those shows or places that really merit to be visited.
The first one goes to "El Cine Cocina, festival de cine culinario". sponsored by the Alianza Francesa de Buenos Aires, from October 31st till November 6th, 2015

The festival consists of conferences, movies and cooking workshops from around the world.
On Monday the 2nd I attended a conference on food photography by Mathilde l'Ecotais.
On Tuesday the 3rd an Indian food class by chef Rabindra Patel, followed by a documentary called "He Himself cooks," showing the kitchen of the Golden Temple in Punjab India that feeds 100 000 people a day.
